Sure funding for SurePayroll

Serial entrepreneur Scott Wald, a rarity in these parts,
has landed $8 million in financing for his latest venture:
Skokie-based SurePayroll. The Web-based payroll processor
will use the proceeds to ramp up sales to small business owners
and double its 25-employee staff, says Michael Alter, senior
vice-president. While its finicky target market might deter
some investors, SurePayroll has an added selling point: Mr.
Wald, who built Buffalo Grove's Asap Software Express into
a $650-million global distributor before selling it in 1996.
