Regional Small Business Trends

On a regional basis, small business size is trending down in the Midwest, South and West year to date. The Northeast is still on track to be the regional success story for 2005. Hiring there is up 4.1% year to date.

On the salary front, average small business paychecks are up in the South year to date, and down in the Northeast, Midwest, and West.
