The national SurePayroll Hiring Index, which measures the number of employees within small businesses, ended February at 10,511, up 39 points from where the index stood at the end of January.
That's our third straight month of increased hiring in the small business economy.
Small business salaries are still on the rise, continuing the trend from last year. Small business paychecks were up in February, for the eighteenth month in a row. The SurePayroll Pay Index clocked in at 1,032 at the end of February, a 7-point increase from January.
