National Small Business Trends
Hiring increased in March, marking our fourth straight month of increased hiring in the small business economy.
The national SurePayroll Hiring Index, which measures the number of employees within small businesses, ended March at 10,558, up 47 points from where the index stood at the end of February.
Small business salaries are still on the rise, continuing the trend from last year. Small business paychecks were up in March, for the nineteenth month in a row. The SurePayroll Pay Index clocked in at 1,034 at the end of March, a 2-point increase from February.
