On a regional basis, small business hiring increased in the Midwest, Northeast, South and West in March.
On the salary front, average small business paychecks rose in the Midwest, South and West. However, salaries dropped 0.8% in March in the Northeast, ending a nine-month streak of salary increases in that region.
