On a regional basis, small business hiring has increased year-to-date in every region except the West, where hiring is down 0.5%. The Northeast leads the nation in hiring growth, with a 9.0% year-to-date increase.
With respect to small business salary trends, salaries have decreased year-to-date in every region except the West, where salaries are up 5.3%. The South has had the steepest drops in small business salaries, dropping 8.6% year-to-date.
