On a regional basis, small business hiring has increased year to date in every region except the West, where hiring is down 0.2%. The Northeast leads the nation in hiring growth, with a 6.9% year-to-date increase.
With respect to small business salary trends, salaries have decreased year to date in every region except the West, where hiring is up 4.4%. The South has had the steepest drops in small business salaries, dropping 7.1% year to date.
