Payroll Tax Specialist

We are poised for success and are seeking a Tax Specialist who is looking to incorporate his/her experience and education in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fun environment.

Here is what you can expect to do:

Duties And Responsibilities:

• File monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns on time
• Create deposits through ACH files and verify the timely deposits of customers taxes
• Maintain deposit frequencies for Fed and State agencies to ensure that taxes are paid timely
• Complete ETPS registration for new customers
• Adjust tax system for customers with FEIN changes
• Keep SUI rates current and investigate discrepancies
• Research and load state codes to MasterTax and PayChoice
• Follow up on missing Applied for EIN numbers
• Follow up on daily import fallouts
• Resolve wage and tax variances
• Complete state ACH registration
• Assist other departments in regards to Amendments, SUI Rate Notices, Tax Notices, True Up’s, POA’s
• Clear and consistent communication with customers, taxing authorities and employees of SurePayroll

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

• 3-6 years of related payroll and/or tax filing experience
• Payroll and/or tax filing system functionality
• Payroll tax filing regulatory and legislative knowledge
• Ability to manage multiple, time sensitive deadlines
• Ability to apply continuous improvement practices
• Excellent client service skills
• Ability to work in a close team environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong PC skills

Credentials & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• CPP a plus
• Experience using Master Tax a plus
• Experience working in a Service Bureau a plus
