New President Takes the Helm at SurePayroll

Chicago January 6, 2004 SurePayroll, the nation's fifth largest payroll provider, has appointed Michael Alter as its new President. "We are delighted that Michael has accepted this position," said Mark Achler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SurePayroll. "Michael has been a driving force at SurePayroll since he joined the company as our fifth employee. His leadership in sales, marketing and business development has allowed us to achieve our ambitious growth goals in the past. Given his knowledge of our business, his track record, and his strong leadership skills, we are confident that he will build on this foundation to take SurePayroll to new and greater heights in the future." Alter has served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development since 1999. Under his leadership, SurePayroll's customer base has grown to over 10,000 small businesses, comprising payroll payments of over $2.5 billion in 2003. Previously, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was a founder and leader of the Service Operations Practice. Prior to his earning his MBA from the Harvard Business School, Alter worked in various sales positions at IBM. He received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Northwestern University.
