New President Takes the Helm at SurePayroll

Insider Promoted to Drive Future Growth of America's Fifth Largest Payroll Provider

Chicago — January 6, 2004 — SurePayroll, the nation's fifth largest payroll provider, has appointed Michael Alter as its new President.

Alter has served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development since 1999. Under his leadership, SurePayroll's customer base has grown to over 10,000 small businesses, comprising payroll payments of over $2.5 billion in 2003.

Previously, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was a founder and leader of the Service Operations Practice. Prior to his earning his MBA from the Harvard Business School, Alter worked in various sales positions at IBM. He received an undergraduate degree in Economics from Northwestern University.
