SurePayroll’s passion for small business doesn’t stop at payroll. To provide a voice for small business owners and budding entrepreneurs, we send our customers monthly surveys on varying, relevant topics that address their concerns.
Survey requests are sent to a random sample of our 25,000+ small business customers. Most results yield at least a 90 percent confidence rating with a five percent margin of error. All survey requests are voluntary, and we normally receive 300 or more completed surveys per month. The average SurePayroll customer employs between one and ten employees — a range typical to 80 percent of American small businesses.
The SurePayroll Insights Survey began in June 2006 to complement the SurePayroll Scorecard, a monthly economic indicator generated from our customers’ payroll and tax data. Unlike most surveys that focus on the insights of Wall Street executives and analysts, the Insight Survey seeks answers from Main Street, giving a glimpse into the minds of people who compose 90 percent of U.S. employers and, in turn, employ almost half of America's private sector workforce.
The survey answers are used as part of an aggregate report. We post the overall results in the Media Releases section of our Web site to provide the small business community with other small business owners' thoughts on topics of interest. We also send results to relevant media outlets. We encourage news organizations and independent bloggers to use the results when discussing the small business climate on radio shows, TV and podcasts.
Since the Insights Survey’s inception, leading financial and business media outlets have referenced the survey findings and asked SurePayroll President Michael Alter to appear as a spokesperson for small businesses.
