The holiday season is a time for giving. It is a time for showing those in your life how much you care about them. While many people think about friends and family at this time, don’t overlook theimportance of your employees. These are the people who keep your company ticking, day in and day out, throughout the year.
Many small business owners enjoy giving gifts to employees during the holidays. Even though this is a great way to show you care, there is something you can do to take things one step further: say thank you.
Like many, you may struggle to say thank you in a "face to face" environment. If this sounds familiar, here are three ideas to consider:
Put it in a greeting card. This is one of the best ways to say thank you, as a nice card can go a long way in expressing your true feelings. Rather than simply sign the card, add a personalized message to show just how much you care.
Send an email. It may be informal, but it remains one of the best ways to express your feelings. A couple lines of thanks can be the difference between a happy employee and one who feels they are being taken for granted.
Address your company as a whole. If you don't want to individually communicate your feelings to each employee, why not have a get together that allows you to address your entire company at the same time? A holiday party, for example, is the perfect setting for making a toast and saying thank you to everybody who has contributed to another successful year.
There is no better time than the holiday season to express your gratitude to employees for everything they do.
